So you want to give roller skating a try? What skates to buy depends on several factors. How long do you plan on skating? How often? What is your skill level? What kind of skating do you plan on doing with your new skates? Are you going to be skating indoors or outdoors?
For children it is recommended to buy a size larger than their current shoe size and wear extra socks so you can get a little bit more wear out of the skates. However if your child is participating in any form of competitive skating, then we probably will not recommend it because proper fit will provide the best advantage in learning to skate competitively.
For novice beginner skaters, especially children, we may recommend a budget priced skate since their feet grow so fast. For adults who intend to skate for many years, we are going to recommend a higher quality skate if your feet have stopped growing. You will actually save money in the long run by the years of enjoyment you will get out of a nice pair of quality skates that fit comfortably.
You probably are going to have more questions. There isn't one right answer for every skater out there because there are so many variables. What I can tell you is that if you are confused about what kind of skates to buy or what model of skates will serve you well, just give us a shout and we will be more than happy to consult with you.
